METAR is an abbreviation for “Meteorological Aerodrome Report”. It is a weather report written specifically for aviators and follows a standard format. It includes key information specific to each aerodrome and data such as wind speed and direction, visibility, cloud cover, and precipitation. A METAR usually looks something like this.
